Scheive Family Dental Care is pleased to provide Invisalign® treatment. This modern method of straightening teeth has helped over 4 million people worldwide gain new confidence in their smiles. If you’re one of many adults that hesitates before smiling due to misaligned teeth, Dr. Colleen Scheive would be happy to introduce you to the Invisalign® system.
You may have heard an ad or seen commercials for Invisalign® already, but if you’re not familiar with the system, we’re happy to give you the details! Invisalign® is the safe, easy, and quick way to straighten teeth without the hassle and visibility that can come with traditional metal braces. The average treatment time is about one year, which is often half of the time it takes for their metal competitor to do the trick.
Dr. Scheive has been providing Invisalign since 2009, and in April 2016 she was invited, along with 30 other Midwestern doctors, to take the illustrious Reingage program with Dr. David Galler, one of the most prestigious and renowned Invisalign providers and educators in the country.
Dr. Scheive has traveled across the continent, including Toronto and Costa Rica this past year, accumulating over 100 hours of continuing education in Invisalign. She was asked to be president of her class and now teaches other doctors how to use Invisalign and helps them with complex cases.
Invisalign is one of Dr. Scheive’s favorite aspects of dentistry because it is exciting, healthy, conservative, and life changing for patients! We have an iTero® scanner, which is faster and more accurate than traditional impressions, and without the goop! Dr. Scheive also uses Propel accelerated orthodontic techniques to decrease overall treatment times by up to 60%.
Your first step will be scheduling a consultation with Dr. Scheive. She’ll take digital x-rays for quick, precise images of your teeth, and create a treatment plan that includes the precise movements of your teeth. Dr. Scheive will give you a timeline of how long treatment will take, and you’ll even be able to see a preview of your new smile.
When you receive your custom clear aligners, you’ll wear them for at least 20 hours a day. Depending on your treatment plan, you may swap the aligners every week or every other week. The success of the process relies on you taking them out only to conduct your oral hygiene routine and eat, but the good news is that you won’t have to hold back from enjoying your favorite foods!
If your bite requires significant alteration or movement along the vertical axis, Invisalign® may not work for you. Dr. Scheive has been able to treat the following common concerns with Invisalign® clear aligners:
